Top tips to boost your immune system this winter

Top tips to boost your immune system this winter

I don’t know about you, but it seems like every kind of bug has been bouncing about around here... and without bragging or jinxing ourselves, it looks like the boys and I are managing to dodge them!

Here are the five things we're doing to keep our immune systems boosted this winter, and every winter!

1. Stick to your sleep schedule

I am militant with my boys' sleep schedule because when it goes out of whack, they do too. So, we all go to sleep at the same time and wake up at the same time most days. When I get a good streak of this, I feel downright amazing.

2. Pack in the antioxidants

We take Winter Wellness Elderberry Elixir. Every. Single. Day. Elderberries are such a brilliant gift from Mother Nature because they are just the perfect little berry to boost your immune system. Packed with Vitamin C, A, iron and antioxidants, they are little powerhouses. We combine organic elderberries with organic rosemary, cinnamon, honey, clove, ginger and turmeric to create what I think is the most delicious and perfect elixir. Take this daily to feel great and up to four times a day if you feel the lurgy lurking.

3. Max out on mushrooms

Ok, I know I go on and on about functional mushrooms, but I promise I do it for the best reasons. Our Sacred Roots Healing Hot Chocolate, is packed full of Chaga and Reishi mushrooms. I give this to my boys as an after school drink. Reishi is considered the King of Mushrooms and boosts your immunity like no other. Then the wonderful Chaga has more antioxidants than anything else on the planet. Not only does Sacred Roots taste delicious, it keeps you feeling great!

4. Top up your vitamin C

We all know Vitamin C is great at keeping the bugs away, so I take quite a bit each day. I like to use Liposomal Vitamin C so that it doesn’t affect my stomach. You can find great ones online, but if you’d like a suggestion, let me know.

5. Keep it balanced

Move a bit, but also rest. Winter is for resting, if we do too much, we can feel it and we start to feel unwell. Do not for whatever reason feel guilty about taking time to rest. You’re built to rest and you deserve it. My little break when I need it is usually me making a pot of our Calming Tea and lighting a fire. There’s something about tending to a fire that makes me feel better.

I hope this helps give you some ideas! Like always, if you would like us our help in curating an order based on your needs, simply send us a quick note and we'll be in touch.

Warmest wishes,

Hollie x
